Bewdley Church

Bewdley Church in Worcestershire has several churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Bewdley is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the basis for the decline is just that people do not believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bewdley community then it is truly extraordinary figures are going down. Surely we all want our Bewdley to be a good location to inhabit, where people get along, they assist one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bewdley church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, considering his anti-homosexual speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
