Horsforth Church

Horsforth Church in West Yorkshire has numerous churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Horsforth is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been falling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the explanation for the decline is simply that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Horsforth community then it's in reality startling figures are going down. Surely we all want our Horsforth to be a wonderful location to dwell, where persons get along, they help each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Horsforth church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual language in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
