East Grinstead Church

East Grinstead Church in West Sussex has many churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and East Grinstead is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been falling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the cause for the decline is in simple terms that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches represent in our East Grinstead community then it is truly astonishing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our East Grinstead to be a wonderful place to inhabit, where persons get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your East Grinstead church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as native schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, considering his anti-gay language in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful spot to be - a good place to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
