Barnham Church

Barnham Church in West Sussex has various churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Barnham is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been plummeting for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is in basic terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Barnham community then it's truly remarkable figures are going down. Surely we all want our Barnham to be a wonderful location to dwell, where people get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Barnham church and demand change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as native schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good space to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
