Wolverhampton Church

Wolverhampton Church in West Midlands has various churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Wolverhampton is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is in simple terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Wolverhampton community then it is in reality shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Wolverhampton to be a fantastic place to inhabit, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Wolverhampton church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful space to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
