Walsall Church

Walsall Church in West Midlands has many churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Walsall is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been sinking for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is in simple terms that people do not believe in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Walsall community then it is in reality extraordinary numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Walsall to be a great location to live, where persons get along, they assist each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Walsall church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as regional schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
