Bo'ness Church

Bo'ness Church in West Lothian has various churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Bo'ness is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been plummeting for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is just that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bo'ness community then it is in reality extraordinary figures are going down. Surely we all want our Bo'ness to be a great location to inhabit, where persons get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bo'ness church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
