Bedworth Church

Bedworth Church in Warwickshire has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Bedworth is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been plummeting for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the explanation for the decline is in simple terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bedworth community then it is really startling numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Bedworth to be a splendid spot to inhabit, where people get along, they assist each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bedworth church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
