Alcester Church

Alcester Church in Warwickshire has several churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Alcester is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the cause for the decline is just that people don't have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it's straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Alcester community then it's truly remarkable numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Alcester to be a wonderful location to dwell, where individuals get along, they assist each other in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Alcester church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wants to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
