Washington Church

Washington Church in Tyne and Wear has a lot of churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Washington is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been plummeting for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the cause for the decline is in basic terms that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Washington community then it's really shocking figures are going down. Surely we all want our Washington to be a fantastic spot to inhabit, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Washington church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
