Weybridge Church

Weybridge Church in Surrey has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Weybridge is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the rationale for the decline is in basic terms that people don't believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Weybridge community then it's in reality remarkable figures are going down. Surely we all want our Weybridge to be a splendid place to be alive, where persons get along, they help one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Weybridge church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good spot to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
