Hindhead Church

Hindhead Church in Surrey has several churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Hindhead is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the population presiding at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is just that people don't have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Hindhead community then it's really amazing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Hindhead to be a wonderful spot to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Hindhead church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
