Cobham Church

Cobham Church in Surrey has numerous churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Cobham is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the explanation for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Cobham community then it's in reality astounding figures are going down. Surely we all want our Cobham to be a great spot to dwell, where people get along, they help one another in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Cobham church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as native schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-homosexual speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
