Bungay Church

Bungay Church in Suffolk has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Bungay is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the cause for the decline is simply that people don't believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bungay community then it is actually surprising figures are going down. Surely we all want our Bungay to be a fantastic spot to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bungay church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
