Stirling Church

Stirling Church in Stirlingshire has various churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Stirling is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been dipping for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the explanation for the decline is just that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it's easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Stirling community then it is actually astonishing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Stirling to be a great location to be alive, where individuals get along, they assist one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Stirling church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet space to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
