Llancarfan Church

Llancarfan Church in South Glamorgan has numerous churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Llancarfan is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the cause for the decline is simply that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Llancarfan community then it is really shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Llancarfan to be a great location to inhabit, where people get along, they assist one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Llancarfan church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet space to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
