Winsford Church

Winsford Church in Somerset has several churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Winsford is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the rationale for the decline is simply that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Winsford community then it is in reality amazing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Winsford to be a good location to inhabit, where individuals get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Winsford church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
