Ludlow Church

Ludlow Church in Shropshire has many churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Ludlow is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been sinking for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the basis for the decline is in simple terms that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Ludlow community then it's actually remarkable figures are going down. Surely we all want our Ludlow to be a good place to dwell, where people get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Ludlow church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wants to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-gay words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful spot to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
