Towcester Church

Towcester Church in Northamptonshire has various churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Towcester is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the rationale for the decline is in basic terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Towcester community then it's in reality startling numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Towcester to be a splendid place to be alive, where individuals get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Towcester church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good place to ruminate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
