Rushden Church

Rushden Church in Northamptonshire has various churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Rushden is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the basis for the decline is just that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Rushden community then it is in reality shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Rushden to be a fantastic location to live, where people get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Rushden church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, considering his anti-gay speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
