Tadcaster Church

Tadcaster Church in North Yorkshire has various churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Tadcaster is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been falling for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the population presiding at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the basis for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Tadcaster community then it is in reality astonishing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Tadcaster to be a great place to be alive, where people get along, they assist one another in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Tadcaster church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
