Juniper Green Church

Juniper Green Church in Midlothian has several churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Juniper Green is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been tumbling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the grounds for the decline is in simple terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Juniper Green community then it is actually extraordinary numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Juniper Green to be a great spot to dwell, where people get along, they help one another in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Juniper Green church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful space to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
