Southall Church

Southall Church in Middlesex has numerous churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Southall is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the grounds for the decline is simply that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Southall community then it's really amazing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Southall to be a great place to dwell, where individuals get along, they help one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Southall church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-homosexual speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good place to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
