Woodhall Spa Church

Woodhall Spa Church in Lincolnshire has numerous churches for different religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Woodhall Spa is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, nonetheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the grounds for the decline is in basic terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Woodhall Spa community then it is truly shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Woodhall Spa to be a fantastic spot to be alive, where people get along, they assist each other in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Woodhall Spa church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-gay language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
