Melton Mowbray Church

Melton Mowbray Church in Leicestershire has several churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Melton Mowbray is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been plummeting for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the rationale for the decline is just that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Melton Mowbray community then it's actually extraordinary numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Melton Mowbray to be a great place to be alive, where people get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Melton Mowbray church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good place to reflect on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
