Fleetwood Church

Fleetwood Church in Lancashire has a lot of churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Fleetwood is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the explanation for the decline is in simple terms that people don't believe in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Fleetwood community then it's truly remarkable figures are going down. Surely we all want our Fleetwood to be a splendid place to be alive, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Fleetwood church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly a soul desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
