Cleveleys Church

Cleveleys Church in Lancashire has many churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Cleveleys is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the basis for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Cleveleys community then it is really startling figures are going down. Surely we all want our Cleveleys to be a great location to dwell, where individuals get along, they help one another in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Cleveleys church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly a soul wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, considering his anti-homosexual words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
