Chipping Church

Chipping Church in Lancashire has numerous churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Chipping is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been dipping for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the rationale for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Chipping community then it is truly surprising numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Chipping to be a splendid spot to be alive, where persons get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Chipping church and make a request change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, considering his anti-gay speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
