Longfield Church

Longfield Church in Kent has many churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Longfield is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been falling for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is in basic terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the economy in a bad way it is easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Longfield community then it is really startling figures are going down. Surely we all want our Longfield to be a splendid spot to be alive, where persons get along, they help one another in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Longfield church and demand change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly a soul desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-gay speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
