Cleethorpes Church

Cleethorpes Church in Humberside has many churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Cleethorpes is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been tumbling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, nonetheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the reason for the decline is in basic terms that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Cleethorpes community then it is truly extraordinary figures are going down. Surely we all want our Cleethorpes to be a wonderful place to dwell, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Cleethorpes church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody wishes to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-homosexual rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
