Barnet Church

Barnet Church in Hertfordshire has numerous churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Barnet is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the grounds for the decline is just that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it is easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Barnet community then it's actually surprising numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Barnet to be a fantastic spot to live, where persons get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Barnet church and demand change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, feeble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet space to be - a good space to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
