Ringwood Church

Ringwood Church in Hampshire has many churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Ringwood is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the explanation for the decline is simply that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Ringwood community then it's really astonishing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Ringwood to be a great spot to live, where inhabitants get along, they help each other in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Ringwood church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, poor and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, scores of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good spot to reflect on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
