Salford Church

Salford Church in Greater Manchester has numerous churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Salford is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dropping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the reason for the decline is simply that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Salford community then it is really startling figures are going down. Surely we all want our Salford to be a good place to inhabit, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Salford church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-homosexual speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet spot to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
