Failsworth Church

Failsworth Church in Greater Manchester has various churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Failsworth is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been dropping for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the basis for the decline is in basic terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Failsworth community then it's actually shocking figures are going down. Surely we all want our Failsworth to be a great place to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Failsworth church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody wants to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as regional schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good spot to reflect on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
