Crumpsall Church

Crumpsall Church in Greater Manchester has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Crumpsall is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the rationale for the decline is just that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Crumpsall community then it is really extraordinary figures are going down. Surely we all want our Crumpsall to be a fantastic place to inhabit, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Crumpsall church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as regional schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, feeble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual language in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful space to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
