Shoreditch Church

Shoreditch Church in Greater London has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Shoreditch is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been falling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, nevertheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the rationale for the decline is just that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Shoreditch community then it's really startling numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Shoreditch to be a great location to live, where individuals get along, they assist each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Shoreditch church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet spot to be - a good space to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
