Leven Church

Leven Church in Fife has many churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Leven is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been tumbling for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the basis for the decline is in simple terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Leven community then it is really amazing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Leven to be a good place to inhabit, where persons get along, they assist one another in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Leven church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay language in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to reflect on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
