Epping Church

Epping Church in Essex has a lot of churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Epping is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been plummeting for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the rationale for the decline is in simple terms that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Epping community then it's really shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Epping to be a great place to be alive, where individuals get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Epping church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly a soul wants to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
