Newhaven Church

Newhaven Church in East Sussex has a lot of churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Newhaven is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been tumbling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, however Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the grounds for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Newhaven community then it's truly surprising numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Newhaven to be a wonderful spot to live, where inhabitants get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Newhaven church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet space to be - a good spot to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
