St. Davids Church

St. Davids Church in Dyfed has many churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and St. Davids is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, nonetheless Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the rationale for the decline is in basic terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our St. Davids community then it's actually extraordinary figures are going down. Surely we all want our St. Davids to be a fantastic place to be alive, where inhabitants get along, they help one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your St. Davids church and demand change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-homosexual rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good spot to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
