Saundersfoot Church

Saundersfoot Church in Dyfed has a lot of churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Saundersfoot is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been plummeting for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the basis for the decline is just that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Saundersfoot community then it's in reality shocking figures are going down. Surely we all want our Saundersfoot to be a wonderful place to live, where individuals get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Saundersfoot church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly anybody wants to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, impoverished and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful spot to be - a good space to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
