Kingsteignton Church

Kingsteignton Church in Devon has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Kingsteignton is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been dropping for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the population presiding at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the reason for the decline is in basic terms that people do not believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Kingsteignton community then it is really amazing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Kingsteignton to be a wonderful location to dwell, where persons get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Kingsteignton church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as local schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual speech-making in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good place to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
