We think the cause for the decline is in simple terms that people do not believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bovey Tracey community then it is really shocking figures are going down. Surely we all want our Bovey Tracey to be a great location to dwell, where individuals get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bovey Tracey church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual language in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful space to be - a good space to ruminate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
