Buxton Church

Buxton Church in Derbyshire has numerous churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Buxton is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been sinking for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is simply that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Buxton community then it's actually amazing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Buxton to be a wonderful location to dwell, where inhabitants get along, they help one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Buxton church and demand change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody wishes to work to a superior goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, many people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good place to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep children smiling for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
