Bakewell Church

Bakewell Church in Derbyshire has various churches for various religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Bakewell is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been dropping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the grounds for the decline is just that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the planet and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bakewell community then it's in reality astonishing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Bakewell to be a good place to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they assist each other in times of need and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bakewell church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-gay rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good spot to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
