Brampton Church

Brampton Church in Cumbria has a lot of churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is frequent for a town to have more than one church and Brampton is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been dipping for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once every month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the residents.

We think the basis for the decline is in simple terms that people do not believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Brampton community then it is actually remarkable numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Brampton to be a splendid place to dwell, where persons get along, they help one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Brampton church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly a soul desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful spot to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
