Wadebridge Church

Wadebridge Church in Cornwall has a lot of churches for distinctive religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Wadebridge is no exception.

Unfortunately church attendance has been plummeting for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the grounds for the decline is just that people do not believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it's easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Wadebridge community then it is actually amazing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Wadebridge to be a wonderful spot to be alive, where individuals get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Wadebridge church and plea for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, feeble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, a lot of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-homosexual words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet position to be - a good spot to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
