Sale Church

Sale Church in Cheshire has several churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Sale is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been tumbling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population presiding at least once every month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the inhabitants.

We think the cause for the decline is in basic terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to understand peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Sale community then it is in reality shocking numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Sale to be a splendid location to dwell, where persons get along, they help one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Sale church and pressure for change, you want to help, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as native schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of people such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay speech-making in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet spot to be - a good space to cogitate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest gravestone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the cemetery.
