Knutsford Church

Knutsford Church in Cheshire has numerous churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is conventional for a town to have more than one church and Knutsford is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been falling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the cause for the decline is in simple terms that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it's easy to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the central values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you ruminate on all the good things that Churches represent in our Knutsford community then it is truly amazing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Knutsford to be a good location to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they help each other in times of hardship and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Knutsford church and pressure for change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because hardly anybody wishes to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently walked out after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into account his anti-gay words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep children amused for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
