Alsager Church

Alsager Church in Cheshire has several churches for separate religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Alsager is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been falling for the last fifty years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once every month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the explanation for the decline is simply that people do not have faith in God any more, with wars raging across the Earth and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it is straightforward to understand peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Alsager community then it is really remarkable figures are going down. Surely we all want our Alsager to be a fantastic spot to be alive, where people get along, they assist one another in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Alsager church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get together and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as native schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, taking into consideration his anti-gay words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful space to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present time.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
